2025: Saturday, June 14 - Hove Rock Festival

Hovefestivalen was THE music festival held on Hove on the island Tromøya, outside of Arendal in south of Norway.
It first took place in 2007 with major artists like The Killers, QOTSA and Amy Winehouse as headliners. Hovefestivalen was originally started by Toffen Gunnufsen and Morten Sandberg.

In 2010, The Daily Telegraph appointed the Hovefestivalen to be one of the top ten in Europe, while the Times ranked the festival as the fourth best. That same year, a crowd record was recorded with 19,000 visitors the first day. In 2011, the total audience record was set at 62,000. The festival went bankrupt in 2008, and the British festival producer Melvin Benn took over with his Festival Republic.
In 2014, he had to give up after several years of deficit.
A series of attempts to restart the music festival had not given any results, until Friday, June 23 2018, when Hove Music Festival launched its plans for a new festival on Friday, June 28 and Saturday 29 June 2019.

Hovefestivalen was held for the first time Tuesday, June 26 – Saturday, 30 June 2007.
The average length of the festival was 4,88 days.

At one time the largest music festival in Norway, Hovefestivalen was discontinued after its 2014 show due to defecit.

Preparation for the festival relied heavily on volunteer work. In 2010 there were a total of 2,500 people volunteering. Hove consisted of several different areas such as the camp area, festival area and "zero" area. The camp held up to 10,000 campers and was open throughout the festival. The festival area, including the shopping street, was open to everyone who had a day bracelet or festival bracelet. The zero area, which has several fast-food shops, was open to everyone with or without bracelet.

Hovefestivalen had three main performance stages: Hovescenen, Amfiscenen and Teltscenen. One of the more prominent acts at Hovescenen was Muse in 2010.

"I will personally call", the vocalist Dan Reynold's promised the audience in Oslo Spektrum.

Imagine Dragons played on Wednesday night April 25 2018, in Oslo Spektrum.
At the concert, Reynolds clearly stated that he wanted the Hovefestival back.
The audience in the concert arena cheered him on.
It was in 2014 the band was on stage during the very last Hovefestivalen.
Vocalist Dan Reynolds has not forgotten how great it must have been to play a concert at the southern island, Hove, in Tromøy, Arendal.
